OUR MISSION
Many years ago, Jeff Cooper learned the value of a well-built dock. He’d purchased his first cottage and couldn’t wait to take his boat out on the water. It was a beautiful day in mid-May, so he and his daughter took a spin around the lake. Upon parking the boat, however, his little girl hopped out on onto the dock only to find it collapsing beneath her feet. Luckily, she wasn’t injured! At the moment, though, Jeff realized he needed a better product. Since that day, he’s committed himself to bringing the highest-quality docks to the people of Michigan.
At Coopers Docks, our motto is “The cost begins where the price leaves off.”
POPULAR QUESTIONS
-
I would like a lift for my boat where do I start?
In order to estimate your boat lift price, we need to know the length, width and weight of your boat. We also need to know whether you want a manual or powered boat lift. If you want a canopy, make sure to tell us. We can use that information to get you an accurate quote.
-
If I buy a different boat will my lift still work for my new boat?
Some lifts are designed specifically for speed boats while others are designed for pontoons and tritons. Certain lifts feature swappable bunks and guide-ins that enable you to use it for different types of boats. However, weight capacity is always a factor. You can always put a small boat on a lift with a high-weight capacity but you never want to put a large boat on a small lift!
-
How much dock do I need?
The size of your dock is up to you! Depending on what you’re using it for, you’ll have to consider the depth of the water. If you want a boat lift, for example, you’ll have to make sure the water is deep enough for your lift to operate properly. If you want a dock you can dive off, it should be long enough for you to dive safely.
-
Are permits required for a new dock?
Over the past 40 years, we’ve installed docks in every county throughout Michigan. We’ll make sure to inform you of any permits required to install a dock in your area.
